No. 226 – Tabitha and Jonathan

Today we traveled to one of our favorite venues — the beautiful Monte Verde Inn — to film Tabitha and Jonathan’s wedding. Their wedding was a homecoming of sorts, as the bride and groom are currently stationed overseas in England and haven’t been home in over two years! The couple was rewarded with beautiful weather and a flawless day! Tabitha even wowed her guests with a choreographed father-daughter dance. They are headed off to a “family-moon” for a few days before returning to England and we are re-charging our gear and ourselves for tomorrow’s wedding!

No. 225 – Erlin and Jeff

On Saturday we joined Erlin and Jeff at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacramento for their morning wedding ceremony, followed by an afternoon reception at McCormick and Schmick’s. It was an unusually hot May day, but the bride and groom were both troopers as they braved the heat to get some gorgeous photos at Capitol Park. The happy couple are now off starting their lives together and we are hard at work on their wedding video. Here’s a sneak peek at their Cathedral ceremony. Notice how they memorized their vows instead of reading them. It makes the vows so much more heartfelt when you look into each others’ eyes as you state them instead of reading them from a piece of paper.

No. 224 – Jackie & Sam

Even after shooting over 200 weddings, we still run across weddings that are “new” to us. We had never shot a traditional Kenyan wedding until Saturday when we filmed Jackie & Sam’s wedding. Many aspects of the day were very similar to what we were used to; probably the biggest difference in a traditional Kenyan wedding is the amount of enthusiasm of the guests. We couldn’t believe the amount of singing and dancing that we saw from their family and friends. The day started with the groom’s family coming to the bride’s house and escorting her to her awaiting limo, all while singing and dancing. Then following the ceremony all of the guests sang and danced the bride and the groom into the reception hall. It was definitely a new experience for us trying to film in a sea of people! It was a bittersweet day for Jackie’s family as they literally said “goodbye” to their daughter. Following their honeymoon, Jackie is headed straight to Seattle to live with her new husband. It was quite an emotional day all around. Below is a sneak peek at the wedding ceremony. Congrats to the happy couple!

No. 223 – Tiffany and David

Yesterday we were invited to be a part of Tiffany and David’s intimate wedding. Their day began as they exchanged some very personal, heartfelt vows (we love when couples are brave enough to do that!) at the beautiful Old Saint Mary’s Chapel in Rocklin, CA. It was our first time at this venue and what a picture perfect setting for a wedding! Following the ceremony the couple traveled to Thunder Valley and treated their guests to an intimate dinner at the High Steaks Restaurant.

New & Improved

After being inspired by all of the beautiful reception decorations at weddings that I’m around every weekend, I decided to take a week out of my schedule to focus on completely re-decorating our client meeting room. For one week, I was a regular at Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Pier One, etc., but I think it was definitely worth it. I really love the new bride & groom “hot seat”! Come on in and see our new space!

No. 222 – Brena and Nathan

Yesterday we celebrated with Brena and Nathan as they Got married at the Delta King in Sacramento. The day was full of surprises – a lost but soon found ring, a pregnancy announcement, and clear skies after a week of wicked weather. The bride looked stunning in her gown and Nathan made the perfect groom – spending the moments before the ceremony meticulously setting up the reception ballroom. The happy couple is headed off to Fort Bragg and we’re hard at work putting together a video they’re sure to treasure forever. Usually our sneak peek video includes a portion of the couple’s ceremony, but since their ceremony was short and sweet (less than ten minutes overall) we’ve included the entire ceremony for them to enjoy!

No. 221 – Randie and Jeff

On Saturday we headed to the Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento to capture Randie and Jeff’s wedding ceremony. The happy couple traveled all the way from New York to celebrate with their family and friends here in Sacramento. The day started with rain but by the end of the ceremony blue skies were overhead — perhaps it was a sign! Randie looked stunning in her gown and the flowers and color scheme were gorgeous and very elegant. We’re getting to work putting together their complete wedding video, but for now, enjoy this sneak peek of their ceremony:

No. 220 — Rosemarie & Chester

Yesterday we traveled to Folsom to celebrate Rosemarie and Chester’s wedding at Lake Natoma Inn. After 10 years of dating, and two kids later, these two decided it was finally time to make it official on the 10th anniversary of them becoming a couple. Their ceremony and reception was held inside Lake Natoma’s Sierra Ballroom and luckily we dodged some rain so we were able to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings that Lake Natoma Inn offers. I’d offer these two good luck for their future together, but I don’t think they’ll need it. They’ve already been together as long as my husband and I have been together and after 10 years and two kids, they definitely have what it takes for a lifetime of love.

New for 2012 we have been selecting a “Memorable Moment” clip from each wedding. The idea is to provide a clip of something that everyone would be talking about the next day. Well the selection from this wedding was a no-brainer – it’s the cutest clip you will ever see of their son Noah slow dancing with both of the flower girls. Rosemarie and Chester actually weren’t around to see this priceless moment – they were busy taking photos with their guests, but I’m sure they’ve heard all about it. Yet another reason why it’s a good idea to hire a videographer – there are so many magic moments that happen during a wedding that a bride and groom aren’t there to experience. I love how Noah is playing it cool because you never want the other person to know how much you are in to them! And the thumbs up signs are priceless! Enjoy!

Memorable Moment: Antoinette & Mashon

We’re always in awe of couples who have the guts to write personal vows for their ceremony. Not only did Antoinette and Mashon pour their hearts out to each other in front of their friends and family, they managed to hold their composure throughout! Here’s a sneak peak from their March 4th wedding at Le Rivage Hotel in Sacramento, CA:

No. 219 – Antoinette & Mashon

After a six week hiatus (yay for some downtime!), we got back into the swing of things and shot Antoinette and Mashon’s beautiful wedding at Le Rivage in Sacramento. They are very nice people and that was definitely rewarded yesterday as they got some of the best weather one could hope for on their wedding day. Who would have thought on March 4th we’d have beautiful 75 degree weather with no wind along the river? Le Rivage’s outdoor ceremony site made for a beautiful setting for their vow exchange and the ballroom was transformed into an elegant setting thanks in part to their full service event planner, A Berry Special Event. The couple is headed off for a week of rest and relaxation and we’ll get right to work on their wedding video. It should only be about two weeks and then they’ll be able to experience their special day from beginning to end.
