No. 258 – Kaila and Zach

Today we wrapped up our busy weekend with Kaila and Zach’s daytime wedding aboard the Delta King in Old Sacramento. Hiring a wedding videographer was a last minute consideration for them, but we are so glad they chose to include us because if any couple should have their wedding filmed it’s these two. Their big personalities provided plenty of exciting footage that we know they are going to treasure. They are headed off to Disneyland for their honeymoon and we can’t wait to start going through their footage. It’s going to be very entertaining!

No. 257 – Sara and Anthony

Yesterday our double-header weekend kicked off with Sara and Anthony’s vintage-inspired wedding at the Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, CA. Our day began as they invited us to film them as they got ready, so we got to see all the behind the scenes happenings and jitters. Following their romantic mountain ceremony, they entertained their guests with a photo booth, candy bar, and plenty of dancing til the wee hours of the morning. This super nice couple is headed off for some R&R in Hawaii and we can’t wait to surprise them with their finished wedding video in two weeks.

No. 256 – Brittne and Greg

Yesterday we filmed Brittne and Greg’s vintage-inspired wedding. Our day began at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento, CA for their ceremony, which also served as the location for Greg’s parents’ wedding years ago. Following their “I Do’s” the happy couple took a carriage ride to their reception at the Vizcaya. Brittne and her family definitely put a lot of work into this wedding judging by how spectacular the Vizcaya looked! Not a single detail was overlooked, from the candy bar to their Disney inspired cake table. The newlyweds danced on a cloud (of dry ice) for their first dance and didn’t stop dancing til the last dance. This group definitely knows how to party and we got plenty of outrageous open dancing coverage that they are sure to enjoy! Brittne and Greg are headed off to Italy and now we have our work cut out for ourself judging by how much footage we shot! In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 255 – Jennifer and Matthew

Yesterday we shared in the joy as Jennifer and Matthew tied the knot in front of their family and friends. We began our coverage as each of them got ready for their big day. We followed them over to St. Rose Catholic Church in Roseville for their “I Do’s” and then travelled to Rocklin’s Event Center for their lavish reception. These two must be very loved because their family and friends went the extra mile to make sure their wedding and all of its decor and details were perfect! We’ve never seen the Rocklin Event Center look so good! The newlyweds are headed off to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon while we get to work on their wedding video. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of their ceremony:

No. 254 – Jeniece and Dustin

Yesterday we kicked off our 2013 wedding season with Jeniece and Dustin’s wedding at the historic Sacramento Grand Ballroom. Our day began in their hotel suite as they each got ready and we didn’t stop rolling til they danced their final dance at the end of the evening. The day turned out perfectly — the weather was great, the location looked superb, and everything went off without a hitch, and we certainly came back to our studio with plenty of great footage to use in their wedding video. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their vow and ring exchange from their ceremony:

Venue Review: Sacramento Grand Ballroom

They don’t call it “Grand” for nothing! Sacramento Grand Ballroom is one of our favorite venues to shoot at in the Sacramento area. The historic building provides the perfect backdrop for any elegant wedding. The natural lighting that comes into the venue makes for beautiful video (and of course photography). The high ceilings, chandeliers, pillars, and vintage feel far surpases any traditional hotel ballroom. The staff is professional (it’s always so much more elegant to have a line of servers delivering plates straight to the table rather than bringing them out on large trays that guests are trying to avoid bumping into). And with the help of a top-notch wedding planner like Emily with Event Architects, they make sure every detail is perfect for you and your guests. Here’s a look at a recent wedding reception that we shot there:

No. 253 – Beth and Matt

Yesterday we kicked off our 2013 (and 10th) season with Beth and Matt’s wedding. The happy couple make their home in Texas but travelled back to Beth’s hometown to share their day with family and friends. Our day started off at Sacred Heart Church followed by a very elegant reception at the Sacramento Grand Ballroom (one of our favorites!). All in all, it was a perfect day as the weather was warm, the couple was gorgeous, and the day went off without a hitch. Enjoy this sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 252 – Norena and Marvin

On Saturday we wrapped up our 2012 wedding season at Orchard Creek Lodge in Lincoln, CA. Despite rough weather for the past few weeks, blue skies were overhead as Norena and Marvin exchanged their vows in front of family and friends. This super sweet couple loves to laugh and their ceremony certainly reflected their humorous nature. Following the ceremony, guests were escorted inside to find a photobooth, candy bar, and lots of entertainment. Norena and Marvin surprised their guests with their “shadow” grand entrance and Marvin stunned Norena with his video he had made of her family that couldn’t make it to the wedding. Their wedding was such a nice one for us to end our season with, and we also got to end it with one of our favorite photographers — Mackenzie from Chuck Roberts Photography. Her expertise in setting up poses and working with lighting made for some stunning video! We are looking forward to putting together their finished wedding video, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 251 – Jasmine and Brian

Yesterday we wrapped up our fall weddings with Jasmine and Brian’s picture-perfect day. We started off in the morning as they got ready and followed them to the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament for their wedding ceremony. After the big first kiss, mariachis greeted them and their guests as they headed over to the beautiful Elks Tower across the street for their elegant reception. We got some stunning footage of this photogenic couple’s photo shoot, as their photographer utilized all that downtown has to offer for their shoot. By the way, that photographer was Harry who was flying solo yesterday from his usual gig with Sharpe Photography. He’s one of our personal favorite photographers and judging by the footage we were getting with our camera, he set up some stunning poses for these two. The weather couldn’t have been better yesterday, even as we ventured out to the K Street Mall area in the evening. This couple looked so stunning that even though the area was flooded with people in Halloween costumes, these two definitely stood out so much that they were getting stopped and congratulated by everyone. As we finish up our fall season of weddings, it was a perfect end to a hectic season to spend it surrounded by such great people. Here’s a sneak peek at Jasmine and Brian’s ceremony:

No. 250 – Frances and Mario

Yesterday Reel to Real hit a milestone in shooting our 250th wedding of our career! And we didn’t have to travel far from home. Frances and Mario’s wedding was held at the Bridgeway Lakes Boathouse in West Sacramento, which is literally in our backyard. We could have walked there if we didn’t mind carrying all of our gear! We’ve spent a lot of time at the Boathouse with our daughter over the years, so we couldn’t wait to see how they were going to transform the place. All we can say is WOW! With the help of their coordinator, Tashawna Sumner, they took the Boathouse’s nautical theme and ran with it. From the lighthouse centerpieces to the sea shells to the nautical flags, the Boathouse was transformed into a beautiful wedding venue. Here’s a sneak peek at their lakeside ceremony:
