No. 194 – Sherri and Ryan

If you are a follower of our blog posts, you are probably getting tired of hearing me talk about the weather, but once again we had to deal with Mother Nature at our wedding yesterday. Who would think that on May 28th we’d need an umbrella? Luckily for Sherri and Ryan it didn’t disrupt their plans too much, except for the ability to take outdoor pictures. Yesterday they were joined by 400 of their friends for an elaborate wedding. The day started at Morris Chapel at UOP in Stockton followed by a beautiful reception at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi. We loved working with Sherri and Ryan. They are fellow small business owners like we are. They are the owners of El Rancho Sports Bar in Lodi, CA and judging by the capacity crowd at their wedding, everyone in town knows their name!

A Tale of Two Reactions

“We don’t need a videographer, we have a photographer.” – We hear this often when we are at bridal shows and it always baffles us. As the saying goes, “A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words,” but if that’s true, then what would a “motion” picture be worth? Nothing proves this point better than when it comes to the groom’s reaction when he sees his bride coming down the aisle.  A photograph just can’t do it justice.

In this sample video we have a tale of two reactions. Alfonzo and Melinda have been together for 12 years and share two beautiful children. For them, you’d think the ceremony would just be a matter of formality. But as you can see from his reaction, it definitely is not. All that they have been through and overcame to get to this point hits him at the moment he sees her walking down the aisle

For Florin and Christina it’s a matter of anticipation. Christina met Florin while on a mission in Italy in 2008 and they carried on a long distance relationship ever since, mostly talking on the phone every day. His reaction tells their story perfectly – the longing and waiting for the day when they can finally be together forever.

So think about it…for your wedding, will just a photograph be good enough?

Second Place!

Coming on the heels of our 1st Place win last year, we are pleased to earn 2nd place for 2011 in the KCRA-3 A-List competition. There were 59 videographers listed in the Wedding Videographer category this year, so to finish in second place is quite an honor. Thank you to all the past and present clients that voted for us! We really appreciate all of the suport and look forward to another great year of weddings!

No. 193 – Ivett and Nelson

After weeks of dealing with disappointing weather, we finally had a beautiful day — just in time to celebrate Ivett and Nelson’s wedding. Their big day started at St. Rose Catholic Church in Sacramento followed by photos at the Capitol and off to dinner and dancing at Palazzo La Dolce Vita. Their reception featured something that we love — authentic Mexican food. Yummy! Always a nice change of pace for us. Congrats to Ivett and Nelson!

No. 192 – Melinda and Alfonzo

Melinda and Alfonzo have been together for 12 years so they weren’t going to let a little rain stop them from finally sealing the deal. Yesterday they celebrated their love with a beautiful wedding at Arden Hills. Who would have thought that we would have had to deal with rain on May 15? Goes to show you should always have a plan B. Luckily the staff at Arden Hills is very prepared for such occurences and they still had a beautiful ceremony despite having to move indoors.

No. 191 – Raquel and Jogie

Yesterday we shot Raquel and Jogie’s elaborate wedding in Fairfield, CA. We didn’t miss a moment of their big day as we started with them at the house getting ready in the morning and stayed through til the end of the reception. It was definitely one of our bigger Package C weddings. We were also treated to a full agenda of performances at the reception. And these weren’t karaoke performances, their friends and family can sing and dance! It was a very entertaining evening. The happy couple is headed off for a week in the Caribbean while we get to work editing down the 12 hours of footage we shot!

Beautiful by Nature Florist

We’ve worked a couple of weddings lately with Joan from Beautiful by Nature Florist. She always does a great job with the flowers. Here’s a little promo video we put together for her from a recent wedding. Enjoy!

No. 190 Toyia and Jason

We started off our busy month of May weddings yesterday by celebrating Toyia and Jason’s wedding. They had a beautiful wedding at the Vizcaya Pavilion in Sacramento. They booked our extended coverage package so we got to hang out with the bride and groom before the wedding as they got ready. No wedding jitters here — these two were calm and relaxed and ready for their big day. We also got to work with one of our favorite wedding photographers — Shellie with Capture Photography (www.wecapturelife.com). Got some great footage from her photo shoot. We love creative photographers! Congrats Toyia and Jason!

Sample highlight video

Here’s a sample highlight video from a wedding that we shot recently. Remember, in addition to your full length video that includes everything in its entirety (ceremony, grand entrance, toasts, cake, first dance, tosses, etc.), we create a condensed video that’s an overview of the day. The highlight video is a great product to show to your friends and family and best of all, it’s free with any package. We’ve used some generic music for this sample, but couples are welcome to make their own music selections. Enjoy!

The Value of a Wedding Video

We love hearing from happy clients after they watch their videos, but what really makes us feel good is when we hear from clients on their wedding anniversary. Today we got a Facebook post from a bride on her first wedding anniversary:

“I just want to thank you guys so much for capturing my royal wedding one year ago. It was so nice being able to re-live our special day. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to make my wedding day something truly magical. Thank you for giving me something that makes my anniversary a day to reflect on one of the happiest days of my life.” — Carolyn and Matt

Looking through your wedding album on your anniversary is great, but wouldn’t you love to go back and re-live that day as it actually happened? Not just look at a picture of you laughing, but actually see what you were laughing about? There’s a saying that, “We don’t remember days, we remember moments.” Sure there are moments from your wedding that you’ll never forget, but so much of the day is forgotten in the blur of excitement and as the years go by it gets harder and harder to remember. It’s on your anniversary that you really see the value of a wedding video because it takes you right back to that moment and all the emotions.

Congrats Carolyn and Matt on your anniversary! And thanks for sharing your experience!
