No. 276 – Glenna and Saye

Yesterday we wrapped up our double-header Arden Hills weekend with Glenna and Saye’s wedding. Despite the rain that blanketed Sacramento on Saturday, the skies were clear and the weather was beautiful as Glenna and Saye said their “I Do’s” in front of their friends and family at the Villa. Their ceremony featured something we hadn’t seen before — a unity candle ceremony that allowed all of the guests to join in. They passed out candles and everyone lit their candle off of the main unity candle. What a great idea! Following the ceremony, the guests headed over to the Heritage room where there was lots of laughs and dancing to be had. Here’s a look at their ceremony:

No. 275 – Eliana and Adrian

Yesterday we shared in the joy as Eliana and Adrian tied the knot in front of their family and friends at Arden Hills Resort in Sacramento. This fun-loving couple had the perfect mix of laughter and tears in their ceremony — choosing to write and read their own vows to each other. After their beautiful ceremony at the Villa, they headed over to the Heritage room for their reception, where they treated their guests to a photo booth and a yummy dessert bar. Yesterday was fun for us because we got to work again with the brother-sister dynamic duo of Alex Chernak and Gabriela Michanie. It was also special because we were joined by a young photography prodigy, the hard-working Jeremiah McWright, who took some bonus pics for the bride and groom (the pose of the couple above is courtesy of Jeremiah). Here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 274 – Laura and David

Yesterday we headed up the hill to Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City to celebrate Laura and David’s big day! This remote, outdoor location was the perfect setting for Laura and David to express their love for each other. And thanks to the help of their outstanding coordinator, Kendra from Pfeiffer Event Planning, the day went off without a hitch. They even managed to dodge the rain that was in the area! The happy couple is headed off to Thailand while we put the finishing touches on their video. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

Simply Gorgeous!

We get to work with all sorts of wedding photographers — from family friends to newbies to some real artists. It’s the true professionals that provide us with stunning video opportunities. What sets the real pros apart is their understanding and use of the natural surroundings and how to use lighting effectively. Recently we had the privilege of working with Beth from True Love Photo and her expertise gave us some gorgeous footage of the bride. Check it out:

No. 273 – Taryn and Mike

Yesterday we returned to the Vizcaya to shoot Taryn and Mike’s wedding. We’ve known Taryn for years and it was great to be a part of her big day. And wow, did she look stunning! She and her mom put a lot of hard work, and a little help from Etsy, in creating the decor and every detail to make the day spectacular. Even though they worked so closely on everything, Taryn’s mom was also able to keep some secrets from her daughter to make the day full of surprises. From the signs that lined 21st street welcoming everyone to the horse & carriage sparkler exit, Taryn was definitely shocked. Taryn also got a surprise in on Mike with the special mashed potatoes bar at dinner time. Yum! The newleyweds are headed to Maui for some R&R and we are already at work on their wedding video. Here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 272 – Michelle and Omar

Yesterday we kicked off September with Michelle and Omar’s gorgeous wedding at Arden Hills. The weather was mild and the skies were overcast which made for ideal lighting for their ceremony at the Villas. Michelle looked stunning in her gown and the purple hues that she chose for the wedding really popped! Once the newlyweds said their “I Do’s” and jumped the broom, everyone headed inside. The Heritage room looked stunning. Michelle paid attention to every little detail and turned that space into something spectacular. Guests were treated to a candy station, a photo booth, a tribute table to loved ones who have passed, and a cupcake tower. The day was great for us as well because we got to work with one of favorite photographers, Meagan from Christopher Kight Photography. It’s always a pleasure to work with her and we always end up with some great footage from her photo shoot. Michelle and Omar definitely had a great time at their wedding and we can’t wait to deliver a video to them that they will treasure forever. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 271 – Kami and Jacob

We put the “labor” in Labor Day weekend with two weddings over the holiday weekend. On Saturday we traveled to Camino to the beautiful, hidden Apple Mountain Golf Course for Kami and Jacob’s wedding. The golf course provided a picturesque backdrop for their romantic ceremony. Kami and Jacob made the brave decision to write their own vows to each other and there wasn’t a dry eye to be found when they were done. They even made a veteran wedding attendee like myself shed a tear! Jacob’s dad also surprised them during the ceremony with a song that he had written just for the occasion. When all was said and done, it was a perfect day for this super sweet couple and we definitely captured a lot of video-worthy moments that they are going to treasure forever!
