No. 316 – Brieann and Griffin

Hyde blog
Client: Brieann and Griffin

Date: May 30, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Her parents home in Patterson, CA

Family Matters: Family means a lot to these two, so the country setting of Brieann’s parents’ home made for a beautiful backdrop for their elegant wedding. Everyone put in a tremendous effort to transform the Spalding ranch into a suitable venue for a wedding. During the ceremony the Spaldings’ efforts were highlighted and it made for a very touching moment. Luckily we were in the right place at the right time to capture all of the emotion. Check out this touching clip:

Fun fact! Brieann is a really into numerology and she thought it was fitting to hold her wedding on May 30th (5-30) at 5:30 p.m. which is also the area code in which they met (530 area code). How cool!

A Great Team: The day wouldn’t have been as successful without the hard work of the team of vendors that they chose to bring their visions to life. It was great getting to work for the first time with the following pros: Betsy and Justin of Essence Photography (www.capturethestory.com), Wedding Coordinator extraordinaire Erin Armstrong and her team, and DJ Ben with Amos Productions.

But enough gushing about this wedding, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 315 – Esmeralda and Lionel

Client:Esmeralda and Lionel

Date: May 23, 2015

Ceremony Location: St. Maria Goretti Parish, Elk Grove, CA

Reception Location: The Falls Event Center, Elk Grove, CA

Worlds Collide: Esmi’s a world traveller who met Lionel not in his native Argentina but while viewing a professional soccer match in Los Angeles.

Great idea! Lionel’s daughter added beading to her dress to match the belt detail of Esmi’s dress.

Third time’s the charm: This is the third wedding we have shot for Esmi’s family. We started with her brother’s wedding in 2007 followed by her sister’s wedding last summer. By now we feel like we’re a member of the family too since we ran into so many people who we recognized!

New Venue: We finally got a chance to shoot at The Falls and we were really impressed. They’ve really put a lot of thought into the layout of the building and have included so many features that clients usually have to arrange for themselves — like uplighting and audio/visual items. The natural lighting in the ballroom was fantastic!

Extended Preview: Since so many members of Lionel’s family weren’t able to attend the wedding, I added in a little bonus ceremony footage to what I normally include in the preview clip! Enjoy!

No. 314 – Allison and Grant

Weller

Client: Allison and Grant

Date: May 16, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Their beautiful new home in Davis, CA

Timing: They got married exactly one year to the date and in the exact location where Grant proposed. Construction began on the house in October of 2014 and finished days before the ceremony. Now that’s a nail biter!

Now that’s entertaining: Allison’s background and connections in local theatre made for a great surprise for everyone during dinner. Together with a few of her theatre pals, she created a musical “Love Story” to entertain her guests and Grant. It detailed in song Allison and Grant’s 12 year road to the aisle!

Family Matters: Family is very important to this couple, so they made sure to include their family members in many ways. Just to name a few — Allison’s sister served as MOH and officiant, her cousin played the flute during the ceremony, and even their beloved dog Scout played a role as ring bearer.

Fabulous Vendors: Hopefully Brenda Hodges (www.storybookweddingdesign.com) is getting some much needed rest after working overtime to make sure that every detail of Allison’s dream materialized! We also enjoyed working for the first time with their photographer Amy (www.amyshumanphoto.com) who we found out is actually a neighbor of ours. Go figure!

No. 313 – Diana and Houston

BLOG Crawford pic

Client: Diana and Houston

Date: May 2, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Retzlaff Vineyards, Livermore

Wedding Theme: Diana did a fabulous job marrying a garden wedding with traditional Mexican details.

Family Affair: Diana’s talented sister took care of the flowers for the wedding. On Friday she traveled to the flower mart in S.F. and was up to the wee hours of the morning before the wedding putting together the gorgeous bouquets and arrangements.

Houston, we have a problem!: Houston is one brave guy! He committed the major no-no at a wedding — he smashed the cake in Diana’s face! Good thing she was such a good sport!

Great Idea: Diana created her own ceremony arch out of giant paper flowers that she handmade. You’ve gotta check out the preview clip below to see how fabulous it turned out!

Fabulous Vendors: Racheal Pavkovic (www.ladyoflightphoto.com) was a pleasure to work with and her creativity made for some gorgeous candid footage. Our day was also made easier thanks to the hard work of the gals from Stylish and Savvy weddings (www.stylishandsavvy.net).
