No. 330 – Veronica and Greg

Smith
Client: Veronica and Greg

Date: August 30, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Grand Island Mansion, Walnut Grove, CA

Best One-Liner: From Greg’s poem he wrote to Veronica — “When we initially met I saw you as one sexy lady, but as we stand here today I refer to you strictly as Baby…” Check out the preview clip before to see how he delivered the line complete with gestures!

2015-08-31 09.16.38It’s All in the Details: Veronica was super creative with all the little details at her wedding. She had guests write their name on a wooden heart and it created a unique display. She skipped the usual vase for her centerpieces and went with giant martini glasses instead. She even put a lot of thought into her napkins — making the cutest bride & groom napkin holders.

Memorable Moment: Veronica’s bridesmaid Marla brought the house down with her rendition of “I Will Survive” as her toast to the bride and groom!

Teamwork! We love working with vendors as a team to achieve the best for our clients and Veronica and Greg assembled a fantastic team who we always enjoy working with! Once again Joan with Beautiful by Nature (www.beautifulbynatureflorist.com) did a fantastic job bringing Veronica’s vision to reality. Sam & Harry’s creativity with the photography provided lots of footage for us. Check out more of their work @ theredsneakerstudio.com. Rev. Prima Diva (www.primadivapath.org) oversaw a beautiful ceremony despite sweltering temperatures! And finally DJ Mitch (www.showtimedj.net) kept the party moving along and entertaining and made sure to always keep us in the loop. It’s a pleasure working with such professionals and working together as a team pays off with a successful wedding for the client!

Kuddos to us!

We really strive to not miss a moment of our clients’ big days and it’s so rewarding to hear back from them after they receive their video. We love receiving great feedback and it’s such high praise for a client to refer us to their friends and family!

No. 329 – Pat and Forrest

Rowell blog

Date: August 23, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Grand Island Mansion, Walnut Grove, CA

Last Minute: We actually booked this wedding less than a week before the big day, but I’m so glad Pat and Forrest decided to hire a videographer because there were so many video-worthy moments throughout the day. They are such a fun couple and full of laughs that it needed to be filmed!

back of scroll 3Personal Vows Speaking of fun and full of laughs — everyone was shocked when Pat whipped out her scroll and let it cascade down during her personal vows! She even included a fun note on the back meant for his eyes only! What I loved about these two is that they were not afraid to show everyone their playful side and because they didn’t take things too seriously, they ended up having a blast!

birdcageTeamwork! We love working with other vendors as a team to achieve the best for our clients and Pat & Forrest assembled a fantastic team who we always enjoy working with! Joan with Beautiful by Nature knocked herself out with the flowers and decor. Grand Island always provides a lush garden setting, but Joan kicked it up a notch with her gorgeous flowers and birdcage arrangements that lined the aisle (not to mention the flower petal aisle runner). She even added a heart made out of petals on the hillside for the bride to see as she began her processional. Then Rev. Prima Diva oversaw a beautiful ceremony that went off without a hitch. Megan Lucy with Kight Photography gave us a lot of footage to work with throughout her photo session with the couple. And finally Joe with Extreme Productions kept the party moving along and entertaining and made sure to always keep us in the loop. It’s a pleasure working with such professionals and working together as a team pays off with a successful wedding for the client!

No. 328 — T’wanina and Hassan

collins blog

Date: August 21, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Timber Creek Lodge, Roseville, CA

The Happy Couple: T’wanina and Hassan are two of the nicest people you’ll meet. Hassan’s reaction as T’wanina walked down the aisle was priceless! He was in total shock as he saw her for the first time. Once she arrived to the altar all the emotions caught up with her as their dream was finally being realized. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

stone cakeGorgeous! Their cake was simply gorgeous! I loved the bottom tiers that were individual mini-cakes for each guest. It was so striking and made for such a nice dessert for their guests instead of the usual slice of cake.

Yummy! Hassan never knew a salad could taste so good! Timber Creek’s strawberry and candied walnut hit the spot and since they had a few guests that didn’t show up, he ended up eating three salads! T’wanina’s going to have to get the recipe!

Teamwork! We always love working with photographers from Kight Photography. Yesterday we worked alongside Kristina and it was such a pleasure to work together as a team to get the best outcome for the bride and groom. I can’t wait to see her photos!

No. 327 – Krista and Sam

Sturgis blog
Client: Krista & Sam

Date: August 15, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: Ryde Hotel, Walnut Grove, CA

Setting: The Ryde Hotel provided a picturesque garden setting for Krista and Sam’s I Do’s. The shady gazebo ceremony site would have been perfect if only the temps hadn’t exceeded 100 degrees yesterday! There were a lot of tissues being used throughout the ceremony. Sam would probably say it was to wipe the sweat, but I suspect there were a few tears being wiped too!

The Happy Couple: Krista and Sam have been dating since 2011 and despite living 89 miles (or 1 hour and 49 minutes) apart they managed to make a long distance relationship work. They both spoke of the Sunday night goodbyes during their vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Good idea! Krista has a strong musical background so song choices were really important to her. I particularly liked her Beatles processional playlist — “All You Need is Love” as the parents entered, “A Little Help From My Friends” for the bridal party, and “Here Comes the Sun” for her entrance.

Best Line: Sam began his personal vows with a great line — “Krista, I knew there was something different about you…you had a flip phone!” Check it out:

No. 326 – Ariel and Nick

A&N

Client: Ariel & Nick

Date: August 8, 2015

Ceremony Location: General Vallejo’s Home, Sonoma, CA

Reception Location: Depot Hotel, Sonoma, CA

Setting: Obviously General Vallejo’s Home provides a picturesque backdrop for a ceremony, but what we particularly enjoyed was that it was within walking proximity to the reception venue. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party walked to the reception along the walking trail between the venues and it made for some really fun footage of them singing and having fun during the five minute walk.

Good idea! Ariel and Nick are really fortunate to come from loving families that haven’t suffered from divorces. So they wanted to recognize and honor the tradition of love in their families by placing photos on the dinner tables of their parents and grandparents on their wedding day.

Great footage: Their bridal party keep us entertained the whole night! From serenading the newlyweds during the photo shoot to busting a move on the dance floor, we aren’t lacking in footage of their friends!

No. 325 – Natalie and Nick

blog

Client: Natalie & Nick

Date: August 1, 2015

Ceremony & Reception Location: The Firehouse Restaurant, Old Sacramento, CA

Natalie dress Family ties Natalie and Nick’s marriage was obviously a coming together of two families but it was also the creation of a new family as Nick became a step-father to Natalie’s daughter Isla. It was so cute seeing the interaction between the three of them all day! You’ll notice in the ceremony preview that Isla couldn’t be happier about the marriage.

Stunning dress! Natalie’s dress was simply gorgeous and the open back of the dress was a show-stopper!

Too cute I know the wedding was supposed to be about Natalie and Nick but Isla was just too cute and such a trooper all evening. The cutest moment of the night occurred when Isla serenaded her parents with the song “Lava.” She owned that stage!

program

Bravo!: I am a big fan of providing a ceremony program at a wedding and I loved Natalie and Nick’s. It was informative yet it was written with such humor and really conveyed the couple’s personality. It’s also great when a diagram is provided showing who is who in the bridal party!

wine bottle

Great Idea!: One of the great things about The Firehouse as a venue is that it’s so lush and elegant that it doesn’t require much added decor. So instead of elaborate centerpieces the couple went with very simplistic wine bottles that doubled as a thank you to their guests. They also ran with a “wine” theme and used corks as place card holders and even in the boutonnieres!
