No. 277 – Melanie and John

On Saturday we shot Melanie and John’s “pink, black, and sparkles” wedding at the Westin (formerly Le Rivage) in Sacramento, CA. After spending a day with Melanie, I can say that it would have been a crime if they hadn’t hired a videographer. I don’t think I have worked with a bride who is as comfortable being herself on camera as Melanie. She’s a videographer and photographer’s dream in that she is not shy in the least and she’s open to letting us really capture her true self. Her high energy and attention to detail is going to make for a spectacular wedding video! The Westin’s ceremony site is gorgeous and the accents that Melanie added (like the sparkly chandelier hanging overhead) were perfect. But what was really great about their ceremony is that it totally reflected their personalities. Their vows, which they wrote themselves, were touching and humorous, and even the champagne toast added in some unexpected surprises. But don’t take my word for it, take a look at this sneak peek — (and in honor of Melanie, notice how I changed out the ending credits to a color scheme more fitting for her wedding, instead of our usual blue):

Memorable Moment: Antoinette & Mashon

We’re always in awe of couples who have the guts to write personal vows for their ceremony. Not only did Antoinette and Mashon pour their hearts out to each other in front of their friends and family, they managed to hold their composure throughout! Here’s a sneak peak from their March 4th wedding at Le Rivage Hotel in Sacramento, CA:

No. 219 – Antoinette & Mashon

After a six week hiatus (yay for some downtime!), we got back into the swing of things and shot Antoinette and Mashon’s beautiful wedding at Le Rivage in Sacramento. They are very nice people and that was definitely rewarded yesterday as they got some of the best weather one could hope for on their wedding day. Who would have thought on March 4th we’d have beautiful 75 degree weather with no wind along the river? Le Rivage’s outdoor ceremony site made for a beautiful setting for their vow exchange and the ballroom was transformed into an elegant setting thanks in part to their full service event planner, A Berry Special Event. The couple is headed off for a week of rest and relaxation and we’ll get right to work on their wedding video. It should only be about two weeks and then they’ll be able to experience their special day from beginning to end.

No. 198 – Jessica and Mel

Yesterday was one of those really great days for us as wedding professionals. We love all the clients we work with, but we especially love it when a family embraces us as their family videographer. That was the case yesterday when we shot Jessica and Mel’s beautiful wedding at Le Rivage in Sacramento. Their wedding was the fourth wedding we have shot in their circle of friends and family — going all the way back to 2005 for our No. 28 wedding (Danielle and Matt). It was wonderful to see our previous clients. It really made us feel like we were guests at the wedding instead of the hired help. Now about Jessica and Mel’s wedding. …Despite the sweltering heat earlier in the week, their big day couldn’t have had better weather. They had a touching ceremony overlooking the Sacramento River followed by an elegant reception inside Le Rivage’s tent that also overlooks the river. Jessica was simply stunning in her wedding dress as were her 11 bridesmaids! They are off to spend some much needed relaxation time in Cabo while we get to work creating their wedding video. Congrats!
