No. 249 – Kimberly and Brent

We wrapped up our double-header weekend with Kimberly and Brent’s beautiful outdoor wedding at the General’s Garden at Lions Gate Hotel. While many couples spend their wedding day relaxing and getting pampered in preparation for the big event, these two were hard at work transforming the outdoor space into a beautiful locale for their friends and family. They definitely put a lot of thought into every little detail and their hard work paid off. Their ceremony featured an exchange of personal vows (Brent may have even shed a tear) and a cotton pom pom exit (instead of throwing rice or blowing bubbles). During the reception, their guests were treated to a photo booth, a dessert station, and even a balloonist (creating everything from balloon hats to balloon animals). The happy couple is headed off to begin their life together and we are headed off to create a video that they will cherish for years to come. In the meantime, here’s a look at their ceremony:

No. 248 – Elizabeth and Richard

Yesterday we kicked off our double-header weekend with Elizabeth and Richard’s very elegant and elaborate wedding. Our day started at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament and I don’t think we’ve ever seen the Cathedral look so good. We have never seen so many roses adorn the aisle and the alter before! It was simply gorgeous, probably only surpassed by Elizabeth herself as she came down the aisle in a gorgeous gown with a train that went on forever! Following the ceremony, the bride and groom released butterflies on the steps of the Cathedral and then hopped in a horse drawn carriage for a tour of downtown before returning for photos at the Capitol. The festivities continued at Arden Hills, where guests were treated to a photo booth, a dessert station, and signature “Felix the Cat” cocktails. Again, Elizabeth outdid herself in choosing the decor and creating all of those little details that really impress. Perhaps one of the biggest “wow” factors of the evening was their surprise first dance that featured a tango. It was definitely a memorable moment and one that we just had to share:

No. 247 – Andrea and Jonathan

Yesterday we beat the heat and shot Andrea and Jonathan’s wedding at the Pavilion at Haggin Oaks. Their ceremony was held outdoors in front of the oak tree and the reception was held inside the Pavilion. Andrea really put a lot of thought into every little detail for this wedding and really did a lot of research on Pinterest for some great ideas. We also got to work with two of our favorite vendors — Chris Howard Imagery and Stewarts Disc Jockey — which always makes it more fun! The couple is headed off to Maui and we are headed to work putting together their wedding video. Here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 246 – Nicole and Brandon

On Saturday we wrapped up our double-header weekend by traveling to San Jose for Nicole and Brandon’s elegant wedding. Our day started at the Fairmont Hotel as we captured all of the hustle and bustle as the two college sweethearts got ready for their big day. We then traveled to St. Francis Cabrini Church for their Catholic ceremony. After the ceremony, the couple traveled in style (a Vintage car) to the gorgeous Corinthian Event Center in downtown San Jose. The venue was stunning and with all the attention to detail that Nicole put into the decor, it was spectacular! The happy couple is headed off to a two-week long Thailand honeymoon and we will get to work putting together a video they can cherish forever. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 245 – Zayra and Mike

On Friday we kicked off our double-header weekend by shooting Zayra and Mike’s wedding at Arden Hills. After 8 years of being together and two beautiful children later, Zayra and Mike decided to make it official in front of their family and friends at Arden Hills’ Courtyard ceremony site. Their ceremony featured their son carrying the rings in a briefcase (secret service style) and it ended with a rendition of “All you need is love” courtesy of the officiant and their bridal party. This couple definitely doesn’t like to be ordinary, so at the reception, guests were treated to the couples’ choreographed first dance mash-up as well as the groom standing on the head table to profess his love and thanks. All in all, the day was perfect for this super nice couple and they got some gorgeous photos thanks to the picturesque grounds at Arden Hills and the expertise of their photographer — Sam from Sharpe Photography (www.sharpephotographers.com). He’s one of our favorite photographers to work with! We’re headed off to shoot our next wedding, but in the meantime, enjoy this clip from their ceremony:

No. 244 – Tova and Reef

Yesterday we headed to Valley Hi Country Club in Elk Grove, CA to celebrate with Tova and Reef as they expressed their love for each other in front of all of their family and friends. Their lakeside ceremony was both touching and humorous, which fit this couples’ personality perfectly. Rev. Jeri Murphy (www.revjerimurphy.com) did an outstanding job as usual and we also got to work with a photographer that we love — Huy Phan (www.huyphan.com). At the reception, guests were treated to a photo booth and a delicious dessert bar featuring cookies, tarts, mini cakes, and more. These two also entertained their guests with their dancing skills, which made for some great footage for their video. We can’t wait to share the video with this super nice couple, but in the meantime here’s a look at their ceremony:

No. 243 – Katrina and Sergio

On Saturday we headed to Lake Natoma Inn to celebrate with Katrina and Sergio as they made their relationship official. Their ceremony took place at Lake Natoma’s gazebo and was officiated by Katrina’s brother who got ordained specifically for the occasion. The reception at the Grand Pavilion featured a photo booth and a lot of dancing! Having a video of their big day was super important to this couple, because we were one of the first vendors they booked when they started planning their wedding. So the pressure is on for us to give them a video that showcases their day from beginning to end. We can’t wait for them to see the final product, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 242 – Kimberly and Derek

Yesterday we wrapped up our double-header weekend with another out of town wedding. This time we traveled to Livermore to the beautiful Poppy Ridge Golf Club for Kimberly and Derek’s elegant wedding. The weather was perfect as the couple said their “I Do’s” in front of their family and friends overlooking the picturesque golf course and surrounding vineyard. Derek and his friends are basketball players so we spent a lot of time filming upward which is something new for us! Kim’s side of the family has roots in New Orleans, so we got to experience a New Orleans-style second line dance where the bride and groom held parisols and their guests followed them as they danced waving their custom silk screened handkerchiefs. Overall it was a day to remember and now we are tasked with making them a video they will cherish forever. In the meantime, here’s a preview of their ceremony:

No. 241 – Patricia and Nathan

On Friday we escaped the heat of Sacramento by heading up the mountain to South Lake Tahoe for Patty and Nate’s destination wedding. We started our day at St. Theresa Catholic Church and finished atop Mt. Heavenly at the Lakeview Lodge. It was the first time we’ve ever taken a gondola to reach a reception site and wow were the views stunning! Not only were Patty and Nate’s guests treated to some of the best scenery Tahoe has to offer, they also enjoyed a photo booth, a dessert bar featuring a variety of delicious pies, and homemade strawberry jam made by Patty’s relatives. We always love it when couples have a theme for their wedding decor and Patty and Nate did a great job embracing the Tahoe theme. Every little detail played into their theme, from the graphics they used on their program to the tree stumps that their centerpieces sat on. Congrats to the new couple who is headed back to make their home in Southern California. Here’s a sneak peek at their ceremony:

No. 240 – Jennifer and Alvin

Jennifer and Alvin met in 2009 and yesterday they tied the knot at the gorgeous Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, CA. They invited us to share in their morning ceremony in the beautiful gardens outside Grand Island Mansion, followed by an afternoon reception. The Mansion was packed with their 230+ guests, who were treated to a photo booth and some custom shot glasses. Perhaps the only thing that was missing from the perfect day was the couple’s canine family members! The happy couple is headed off to a Mediterranean cruise for the next three weeks and now we are getting started on their wedding video. Here’s a sneak peek at their “I Do’s” from their ceremony:
